A long time ago, (in a galaxy far, far away), when I was working as a system engineer, I wrote a FAQ for the newsgroup This file was hosted at Geocities until today as I put it on my blog’s server. May be these Questions/Answers could be still usefull for someone.

Bonne lecture.

Linux is for terrorists

April 28th, 2006 by Pascal Alberty

This could be a joke, but it seems not to be. This guy really believes that Linux is an evil thing creating to be used by terrorits and to destroy the Great American Economy. Abstract:

And guess what software Osama Bin Laden uses on his laptop?

If you guessed it was Linux you would be 100% right. Osama uses Linux because he knows designed to counterfit DVDs, curcumventing the Digital Millenium Copyright Act, and defraud companies like Disney.

Totally stupid by funny to read, I thing this article was written only to generate traffic on the blog where it’s published. On this point, this guy wins 🙂

So, read it here and have fun.

The more then 1GB memory Windows XP hibernate problem

April 11th, 2006 by Pascal Alberty

Windows XP has some difficulties to manage hibernate process when you have more then 1GB RAM on your computer. This is a well known problem:

“This problem occurs because the Windows kernel power manager cannot obtain the memory resources that are required to prepare the computer to hibernate.”

as said in the KB at Microsoft’s site. There is a hotfix but you can’t download by yourself. It will be available with the next Windows XP Service Pack or you have to call Microsoft Support.

… or you can download the fix from this blog post
