X-Wing

Finally, Georges wants to make all SW fans happy (and probably wants more money by the same way :D).

Lucasfilm Ltd. and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will release attractively priced individual two-disc releases of Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Each release includes the 2004 digitally remastered version of the movie and, as bonus material, the theatrical edition of the film. That means you’ll be able to enjoy Star Wars as it first appeared in 1977, Empire in 1980, and Jedi in 1983.

But read also some comments found on The Force.net web site:

Video source: Same as used for the 1993 Definitive Collection Laserdisc.

Widescreen: Letterboxed, not anamorphic as the other Star Wars DVDs are. (IE, compared to most DVD releases which are anamorphic, these can’t possibly look as good as they would if anamorphic.)

Note: These DVDs will apparently not include the amazing restoration seen in the Special Edition set. They will not look as good, nor will they sound as good as the Special Edition sets.

Fan’s victory or (again) a good marketing action ? I don’t care and I’ll bought them 😀

Warcraft universe on big screen soon

May 24th, 2006 by Pascal Alberty

WOW

Lengendary Pictures (see IMDB) will be responsible to make a movie based on Warcraft universe. Annouced at E3 conference few days ago, this movie should be a kind of “Lord of the Braveheart”.

Blizzard team would like to have Mister Jackson himself as director … I think it’s illusory 😀

Stay tuned for more news about this Warcraft movie project

Better Builds with Maven 2 released

May 8th, 2006 by Pascal Alberty

Maven2 Book
If your are searching for a good (free) book about how to manage your java project with Maven 2, I think that’s book is a good start.

I know, I also have to read it (I have downloaded it for free!). But you can trust my friend Stéphane Nicoll who is one of the book’s reviewers, this book is good !

Here is Stephan’s quote:

” … Maven 1.0 helped us to significantly decrease the time needed for a new developer to get started on a project. While Maven 1.0 did the job very well, the concepts I’ve learned in the book so far are showing me that we can even go further in terms of dependency management, external tools integration and integrated builds.”

So, don’t miss it, download it and make your own opinion.
